Description:
SUMMARY
GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic and highly motivated engineer for a position as a Yield Engineer in our 200mm wafer fab in Singapore. The candidate will drive yield improvement and product performance on mature technology nodes supporting GlobalFoundries’ strategic roadmap for differentiated technologies.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Responsibilities:
Support new product introduction (NPI) through tape out activities. Reviews incoming customer design in DRC (Design rule check) and actively follows up on correcting DR violations with customers.
Actively monitor and dispose of lots through electrical and sort to meet target performance. Candidate will be responsible for wafer quality to conform to product requirements and have the authority to stop shipment and production to correct quality problems and contain excursions rapidly.
Identify and drive continuous baseline process improvement to yield/quality/productivity and cost using statistical data analysis/systematic problem-solving techniques, failure analysis, product and design information, device knowledge, and technology understanding through teamwork with modules.
Engage with our customers on regular calls giving clear updates on current yield status and meeting customers’ needs.
Execute systematic process transfers for mass production and thereby maintain or improve process robustness and manufacturability.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, or other relevant engineering physical science discipline is required.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a globally matrixed team or environment.
Organized, proactive, excellent analytical skills, on-time delivery of work assigned, and good verbal and written communication.
Able to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment.
