SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE/KĀ PŪKEKA ME KĀ WHEAKO

  • Experience supporting multiple platforms and environments.
  • Exposure to hybrid-cloud, multi-datacentre/site environments.

Experience with, and practical knowledge of:

  • Networks: LAN, WAN, Wired, Wireless, Security, Unified Communication, Passive Optical LAN.
  • Network protocols and the installation, configuration, and support of: Layer 1 to Layer 7 protocols.
  • Enterprise / Service Provider Network Troubleshooting, Operation, and Support.

We’re searching for a dedicated network services engineer to join our team and help improve and maintain the reliability of the many infrastructure network systems we support. As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to support, implement and maintain critical IT network infrastructure across multiple locations, platforms, and technologies.
In this role, you’ll work with core network services, equipment, devices, and access services to ensure that our administrative, teaching and research functions are always connected and operational 24/7. You’ll work closely with our technical infrastructure teams to ensure that the tools that underpin the management and operation of our network are well-maintained, reliable, and service-focused.
As we move towards adopting flexible infrastructure-as-code and related DevOps methodologies, your foundational services for the network will be essential to enable these technologies. And, with your interest in network tools and experience working in a complex, agile environment, you’ll be able to thrive in this exciting role.
