Job description
This is a supervisory role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre (NOC).
REQUIREMENTS :
- Degree/Diploma in any discipline with relevant work experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a NOC environment.
- Knowledge of passive optical networks would be advantageous.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership experience with a focus on people management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of NOC engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective network monitoring and incident management.
- Oversee 24/7 monitoring of the passive fibre network, ensuring optimal system and network performance.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and identifying training needs.
- Manage the response to major network incidents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
- Continuously review and enhance NOC processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and network reliability.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the NOC, implementing improvements where needed.
- Collaborate closely with the NOC Manager and other departments to ensure alignment with network strategies and goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalations related to the passive fibre network.
- Prepare ad-hoc, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Undertake any additional tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor.
