Job description
This is a supervisory role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre (NOC).

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Degree/Diploma in any discipline with relevant work experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a NOC environment.
  • Knowledge of passive optical networks would be advantageous.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership experience with a focus on people management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of NOC engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective network monitoring and incident management.
  • Oversee 24/7 monitoring of the passive fibre network, ensuring optimal system and network performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and identifying training needs.
  • Manage the response to major network incidents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Continuously review and enhance NOC processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and network reliability.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the NOC, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the NOC Manager and other departments to ensure alignment with network strategies and goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalations related to the passive fibre network.
  • Prepare ad-hoc, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Undertake any additional tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor.
