POSITION OVERVIEW

As Engineer, Operations, you’ll ensure all technical engineering work is completed in compliance with B.C.’s Mandatory Reliability Standards (MRS), our strategic vision, core values, and leadership competencies. Reporting to the engineering supervisor, compliance, this position focuses on supporting Operations to ensure safety, reliability, and system integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent inspections within a clearly defined scope, such as specific variables, regulations, and locations, to ensure compliance with B.C. MRS requirements impacting System Operations and Engineering.
  • Take the lead on providing engineering recommendations for corrective actions, develop and maintain processes and documentation, and assist with broader scope inspections to uphold compliance standards.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of data for system outage events and prepare technical reports on your findings. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Vegetation Management, and Operations to recommend corrective actions that enhance system reliability.
  • Provide technical direction and support on operational issues, outage coordination and scheduling, project scope development, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Real Time Contingency Analysis (RTCA), water management, vegetation management, reliability, and protection schemes.
