JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the safe and environmentally compliant industrial manufacturing operation of all equipment, control systems, associated auxiliaries and environmental compliance in an assigned manufacturing operation; which may include chemical operations, and/or utilities. Must have the ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, and to work a reasonable level of scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assess unit operation and instruct corrective action to resolve process problems; and develop monthly performance reports for the related units in Jubail and Yanbu by utilizing process tools such as APAC, Exaquantum, DCS trends, PRO II, Uniformance, DYNAMO among others.
  • Suggest improvements for process control strategies.
  • Review and asses the overall performance of plants and equipment, like compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, etc.; to identify losses and propose recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide necessary support to operations staff during shutdown, start-up, complex troubleshooting and critical or emergency situation.
  • Ensure plant process integrity through a well-defined operating envelope and proper monitoring of critical process parameters.
  • Contribute to Process Safety in KEMYA through: Monitoring Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPI), Proposals for improving Safety performance, Support implementation of standards and recommendations from the industry (EIGA, API, etc.). Participate as member in Alarm Management committee and MOC review committe. Participate and/or lead process Hazard Analysis (PHA) undertaken for both revalidations and projects.
  • Play as SHE element administrator or Sub-element committee member.
  • Prepare study reports and/or process specifications for: Proposals for plant changes / Modifications (MOC), Projects and Technical Ideas initiated, Technical Study Request (TSR).
  • Support definition and implementation of Capital projects by providing: input for conceptual Design Package (CDP), process input to ‘Invitation to Bid’ (ITB), Technical review of vendor proposals, Technical support during execution (such pre-commissioning and commissioning).
  • Contribute and provide technical support for investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives and reliability methodologies (RCM, RBI, RIS, ACA).
  • Interact and handling the required communication with Licensors, Suppliers, SABIC Technology and Innovation (T&I), Asset Technology Center (ATC), other affiliates and vendors.
  • Provide engineering input for scope of work preparation and technical evaluation for external services.
  • Assist the Process Engineering Manager in any additional duties assigned such as contripution in people development. Follow up and close RCA, PHA, PIR and audit recommendations. Provide technical input to resolve customer
  • Contribute with energy and sustainability program. Optimize chemical, power and water consumption.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum 10 years as Process Engineer (Technical support) in relevant field.
