Are you looking for an exciting, hands on, and deckplate support engineering opportunity? As part of a the QP Manufacturing Engineering organization you will be put your engineering and problem solving skills to the test, seeing your solutions put into action in real time with a mix of assignments ranging from just a few days to several weeks to complete. This is truly the best opportunity to apply engineering skills in support of a state-of-the-art nuclear submarine construction facility.
This position is ideal for the highly motivated individual who enjoys getting their hands dirty; working directly with production tradespeople and management, developing designs from inception to use on a variety of interesting applications. Job assignments will include design development and production support of:
- Fabrication fixture designs and process support– supporting steel trades in all aspects of steel construction including forming of steel, ship-fitting and welding
- Lifting & Handling arrangements – learning state-of-the-art crane capabilities and heavy load transporter operations
- Scaffolding designs & arrangements – intricate work platform designs supporting personnel access/egress to various parts of the submarine modules
- Shop drawings and build strategies
- Initiating and implementing Process Improvements as well as supporting trades in implementing their ideas
