Duties: Under the direction of the Manager of the North Section of the North Surveillance and Performance Branch, the incumbent coordinates and performs dam safety inspections, analyzes and evaluates surveillance data from assigned dams and related facilities; elevates performance concerns and anomalies to their chain-of-command in a timely manner, prepares annual performance reports for assigned dams, and maintains other required documentation such as Supporting Technical Information Documents for assigned dams. Incumbent manages and reviews special engineering studies such as hydrology, hydraulics, and stability of dams and their appurtenant structures; inundation mapping; geotechnical evaluation; and other dam safety engineering items. The Incumbent shall become a Subject Matter Expert on their assigned dams and participate on multi-disciplinary teams to address dam safety issues applicable to assigned dams. The incumbent shall adhere to State Water Project (SWP) Dam Safety Program requirements as they relate to execution of their duties, training, and continuous improvement of the Program.
