Salary: National Apprenticeship Wage – 1st Year of Apprenticeship £7.55 per hour
Location: Millness Depot

The Apprenticeship will be with the street lighting team, who are responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and management of the street lighting network in Westmorland and Furness. This ranges from attending to repairs reported by the public or local council members to designing column replacement schemes and associated electrical and lighting calculations. The management team ensure the safe operation of tools, plant and vehicles and oversee compliance requirements for the lighting network such as Electrical Testing and Inspection and Structural Inspections. The team also deal with adoption of new housing estates and undertake technical reviews of lighting designs supplied by Developers ensuring specifications and relevant standards are met. We aim to provide the best possible service for our customers and also keep our teams safe who are working on the network.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR…
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our team as apprentices. The ideal candidate will have a good standard of English, Maths, and ICT, and a strong willingness to learn and grow. This should Include a Minimum of 5 x GCSE at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language.
You should be a team player with excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and a positive, flexible attitude. If you’re eager to develop new skills and take responsibility while working in a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you!
