JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of projects within the multifamily residential housing sector. You will be responsible for overseeing the shop drawing process and configuration reviews for windows and doors, collaborating closely with third-party engineering firms, internal sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams, as well as external builder/developer customers.

  • Shop Drawing Process Management: Lead the creation, review, and approval process of shop drawings for windows and doors in multifamily residential projects.
  • Configuration Reviews: Conduct detailed reviews of product configurations to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with third-party engineering firms to coordinate the development and approval of shop drawings, addressing any technical issues or discrepancies.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment between project requirements and product capabilities.
  • Customer Engagement: Interface with external builder/developer customers to gather project requirements, provide technical support, and address any concerns or questions.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on shop drawings and configurations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all shop drawing approvals, configuration reviews, and communications with stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline the shop drawing process and enhance efficiency through the implementation of best practices and tools.
  • Adherence to Deadlines: Ensure that all tasks related to shop drawing approvals and configuration reviews are completed within established timelines to meet project schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other relevant tools for creating and reviewing shop drawings.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the building materials or construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in a dynamic work environment.
