Our South African office is a critical part of our global operations, and we are seeking an experienced and passionate Engineering Director to lead our talented software engineering team in the LiveScore Group South Africa offices. This senior leadership role involves overseeing recruitment, performance management, culture development, engineering delivery, and supporting the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in strategy development and execution. The successful candidate will collaborate with other engineering directors and leaders within the business to integrate resources in South Africa with the wider engineering function effectively.
Based on the Cape Town beachfront – a breathtaking expanse of white sand and surf, against the backdrop of the world-famous Table Mountain is our newest addition to LiveScore Group – Wonderlabz.

SKILLLS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, preferably within a technology-driven company.
• Strong background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in software development and delivery.
• Demonstrated experience in overseeing a department or function of substantial size or complexity.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with recruitment, talent development, and performance management.
• Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering.
• Proven track record of high performance in previous roles.
• Passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and promoting diversity and inclusion.
• Esteemed by colleagues, with a clear credibility factor defining their directorial role.
