The Role
We are looking for an Engineering Instructor to join our team at The ACE Training Centre in Bankstown. This is a permanent position, working Monday- Friday.
The Engineering Instructor (EI) value adds to the professional technical knowledge of all engineers, aircrew and supporting elements across Toll Aviation operations and within the ACE Training Centre, lifting standards across the board.
The EI performs the role of a ground school technical instructor for the purposes of designing, managing, supervising and delivering all aspects of AW139 technical training delivered at The ACE Training Centre, including but not limited to, annual engineer maintenance training and OEM AW139 Pilots’ Type Endorsement Technical package. This encompasses supervision and standardisation of all technical knowledge instruction.
Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Engineering Instructor, include assisting the Chief Ground Instructor with legislatively defined responsibilities and employer specific duties and responsibilities.

  • Delivery of Engineer related Technical training
  • Delivery of majority of ground technical training for pilots and aircrew officers
  • Delivery of recurrent technical, aircraft familiarisation and safety training for clients, including paramedics and other clinical staff
  • Delivery and assessment of Engineering staff induction
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Engineer Human Factors training
  • Deliver PMA training and maintenance management system training
  • Potential delivery of Recurrent technical training for an engineering workforce (under a future Part 147)
  • Management of training governance materials including relevant TMPs, Courseware, etc
  • Standardisation and ongoing professional development and assessment of all other instructors for technical theory

Skills & Experience

Essential requirements include:

  • Having a relevant aviation background exceeding 10 years
  • Hold Cert IV Aeroskills (B1.3 or B2) or equivalent (military or overseas)
  • Part 66 Licence (B1.3 and/or B2)
  • Prior experience in training/mentoring engineers
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Motivated and skilled to design and deliver quality technical training both in class and as E-learning as a primary responsibility

Highly desirable requirements include:

  • AW139 Type Rating or ability to complete
  • Experience delivering aviation theory training
  • Part 141, 142 and / or 147 Training Approval or equivalent
  • Multi-lingual and / or ability and aptitude to deliver training to foreign students using translation services
