The role is a ‘hands-on coding’ Senior Engineering role leading on our Google Cloud Platform from the front. A strong advocate for Engineering, a role model for the team of less experienced engineers, not only designing and coding, implementing solutions but actively supporting the team with resolution of technical impediments as well as opportunities to continually develop yourself along industry trends and if you wish to develop engineering leadership skills

What you would be doing
- Both leading the engineering team and hands-on coding in the development and deployment of cloud environments & resources
- Setting technical direction for the teams plus helping to develop the team’s skills
- Designing, building the code, testing and implementing elements of the roadmap
- Passionately seeking opportunities for improvements especially driving automation & removing manual steps.
- Have input into the Product Roadmaps and wider Cloud Technology Roadmaps
What’s needed to be considered for this role?
- Development experience in a common programming language, including CICD and experience of modern application / systems design
- Understands the need for zero trust and embedding Cloud security from the start
- Comfortable directing the technical work of a team of software or infrastructure engineers
- Demonstration of passion for developing your team in a “player-coach” model, including developing and shaping the team
- Experience of the leading automated testing frameworks
- Recent certifications in Google Cloud or other relevant credentials
- Comfortable working in an Agile / Scrum base manner, and a confident communicator
