Role: Engineering Manager
Location: London, remote first with the expectation to travel to the office once a week.

Responsibilities:
ROLE MISSION:
As CUBE enters an exciting period of growth via two acquisitions we are looking to augment our team in order to increase capacity during the integration period. Reporting to the Head of our Consumer platform, you will help lead our talented team of C# developers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, team leadership, and project management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Head of Consumer Platform to set departmental objectives, prioritize, track progress and maintain alignment with broader product and technology strategy.
- Supervise the planning, resourcing and execution of key Engineering initiatives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and represent Engineering on major product and customer initiatives and deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to improve the SDLC process, including oversight of:
- Agile practices
- Metrics and reporting
- DevOps practices
- Release management (working with Test and Release team)
- Enhance existing coding standards and ensure they are enforced through quality reviews, training and support.
- Drive improvement across practices (code reviews etc) and tooling to improve quality and developer efficiency.
- Provide leadership and mentoring support to Team Leads.
- Stay up to date with industry best practice across relevant technology, practices and tooling, and advocate for adoption where there is a valid business case.
What we’re looking for:
- Management of multiple application development squads.
- Management of complex engineering delivery projects (span multiple systems and disciplines, co-ordinating product owners, business analysts, infrastructure etc).
- Proven experience as a software engineer with:
- a strong focus on C#. and .NET CORE.
- Preferably full stack (i.e. front end technologies such as Angular,
- Database technologies such as SQL, Elastic and or document storage). Desirable: Familiarity with event-based systems.
- Strong experience with cloud environments – Azure preferable, others desirable.
- Excellent project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong agile reporting skills – ability to configure Jira to deliver meaningful developer efficiency and quality metrics.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel, using project management and other resources effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
