QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 10+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a leadership and project management role
- Previous engineering management or business administration preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering.
- Analytical, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems.
- Ability to understand our business strategy and product roadmaps
- Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for experienced Engineer Manager specializing in Electrical Engineering to join our team, to manage the development of various electronic products. We are seeking a passionate, resourceful, detail-oriented individual who thrives on working in a fast-paced collaborative environment. The selected candidate will play an integral part of our process in managing our multi-discipline engineering team with a strong focus on electrical engineering.
You will be instrumental in successfully managing all engineering projects by not letting anything fall through the cracks, right from concept to completion. You will play a very hands-on role in our PCB Hardware Design team.
This is an in-office position (not remote or hybrid) in Waterloo, Ontario.
- Act as the engineering leader and technical expert.
- Managing a team of 8-15 engineers of multi-discplines
- Work closely with our Director of Engineering and project/platform managers to deliver engineering projects from planning to completion, closely monitoring progress.
- Managing parts and product libraries within Altium, SolidWorks, Python and PLM.
- Must be familiar with database and spreadsheet applications
- Must have exceptional organizational skills and written and verbal communications skills
- Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures
- Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
- Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
- Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
- Monitor staffing and training needs.
- Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff members.
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Travel outside of Canada and U.S. may be required.
