Engineering Manager (Infrastructure & Platforms) - Flutter UK&I, Hybrid
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our Platform Experience teams working on exciting improvements to Developer Experience on UKI Infrastructure & Platforms . Our Platform Engineering teams shape the developer experience on Platforms, from onboarding onto Strategic infrastructure, improving the CI/CD experience, and providing automated workflows that reduce friction for Product Engineering teams. Focusing on automation, infrastructure-as-code and real-time data, we use the right tech to get the job done.
You’ll work closely with product engineers and Infrastructure peers, solution architects, product owners and product managers to ensure we are delivering high quality solutions to enable our consumers to move faster.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading a team to platform engineers to deliver an optimized developer experience on UKI Infrastructure & Platforms.
• Managing the performance of your team members, ensuring they understand the expectations of their role, supporting the personal development of your team members to grow them in their role, and enhance their skills
• Managing the delivery of strategic projects and developer experience features, working with the Product Owner, through agile methodologies and ceremonies.
• Engaging with key stakeholders and consumers to ensure we deliver what’s important to Flutter UKI

We’d like you to have:

• A proven track record of delivering projects via Agile principles
• Ability to prioritize and focus on the most important task
• Experience of Infrastructure cloud platforms
• Strong CI/CD knowledge demonstrating experience of automated deployments managed via Infrastructure as code
• A keen interest in emerging trends in the Platform Experience
• Motivation to continuously improve
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical problems and solutions appropriately for the audience
• Ability to clearly set priorities and focus on what is the most important task at hand.
• Experience of working closely with multi-location teams

Key accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Take on day-to-day management duties for the Platform Engineers within your team, including regular 1-2-1s, coaching and mentoring, enabling career development and assisting the Senior Engineering Manager with recruitment for new Engineers when required.
• Accountable for the delivery of consumer focussed initiatives on the product roadmap, influencing the solution.
• Ensure that delivery plans commitments are achieved
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate roadmap, delivery and generate feedback
• Liaise with other teams within the business to communicate and co-ordinate work and dependencies.
• Take ownership for code-quality, security & scalability.
• Use data to inform decision making around delivery approach, holds their team and themselves account for delivery towards the goals of the team.
