Description:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience: Over 5 years of experience in developing high-technology automotive or industrial products from concept to mass production.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding and proven experience in designing mechanical systems with optical and electrical components.
Design Process: Comprehensive experience in the complete design process, from writing requirements to testing and production.
Leadership: Proven team-building and management skills, with the ability to specify, plan, and deliver projects effectively.
Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Travel Requirements: Less than 10% travel expected.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

As an Engineering Manager (Mechanical Systems) at Envisics, you’ll lead a dynamic team of mechanical engineers dedicated to delivering mass-production opto-mechanical systems for our AR-HUD products. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the timely delivery of multiple mechanical designs at various stages of product maturity. You will enhance our mechanical capabilities, improve design efficiency and quality, and update our design processes. Reporting to the Director of Product Development, you will play a key role in driving our engineering excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Development: Ensure Envisics’ products and components meet project and customer requirements, specifications, and schedules.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the mechanical engineering team, overseeing project planning, sample scheduling, and resource allocation.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with technical and project management teams to identify risks and plan mitigations.
Automotive Processes: Support development within automotive frameworks, including APQP and design validation steps towards product launch.
Change Management: Lead change management processes, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and problem-solving initiatives.
Best Practices: Instill best practices in the development process, including requirements capture, design documentation, design reviews, and validation plans.
Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure designs mature in terms of cost, manufacturability, and quality.
Supply Chain Integration: Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust designs that minimize integration and manufacturing costs.
Professional Development: Manage the professional growth of your team through meetings, appraisals, and training.
