Boeing Space, Intelligence, and Weapons Systems (SI&WS) is seeking a talented Engineering Manager to join our team at Starfire Optical Range, Kirtland AFB, NM to lead our highly talented optics, laser, and mechanical team. This position will also serve as project manager for one of our larger projects, supporting AFRL/RDSS mission of advancing technologies in atmospheric compensation and beam control.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Project Management experience.
  • Project leadership experience including planning, implementing and executing program plans.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • A Bachelor’s of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Builds Positive Relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight to team’s development efforts.
  • Conduct continuous personnel reviews and performance guidance.
  • Develop, hire, and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with other Boeing groups for surge support to special programs.
  • Create and conduct studies, analysis risk assessments to determine impacts.
  • Manage change management processes and communicate decisions and best practices to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between cross functional teams.
  • Work directly with our customer to build cost and schedule plans, provide documentation (briefings and white papers), and determine project objectives and milestones.
  • Communicate technical and program status to our customer.
