Meet the team :
We are currently looking for a Process Engineering Manager to join our Dexcom team in Mesa, AZ!
As the Manager over Process Engineering, you will be responsible for strategic oversight and direction of Process and Equipment Engineering and establishing a best in class team as a part of Manufacturing Operations with the primary goal of meeting manufacturing goals within the Quality System.
You will also provide technical leadership in fields such as chemical, electrical, mechanical engineering as well as best manufacturing processes and product manufacturability improvements, as well as l ead and/or participate in Factory Improvement Teams and other cross functional teams to address problems such as production quality issues, product lines efficiency issues, field failures, and to prevent similar issues reoccurring in the future.

Where you come in :

  • The Engineering Manager is responsible for the oversight of the continuous improvement teams made up of cross functional team members that support the production of commercially launched sensors, applicators, receivers and transmitters with the goals of improving quality, reducing costs and ensure stability of the manufacturing processes.
  • The Engineering Manager will assist the Manufacturing Managers to ensure the manufacturing processes meet production targets against lowest cost, according to planning and quality requirements.
  • Lead and/or participate in efforts to reduce the operating costs, improve quality of the products, implement best in class and efficient manufacturing processes using tools such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Directs and coordinates engineering activities supporting manufacturing, yield, quality, customer needs, on-time delivery, safety, inventory control, productivity, manufacturing efficiencies, cost reduction and regulatory compliance.
  • Champions and leads change initiatives; identifies the best approach for implementing process, implementing root cause analyses and problem solving systems such as DMAIC, A3, Lean Six Sigma across the engineering teams
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Managers to assess resource and equipment requirements, adjust /plan to meet needs of the corporate goals and product development roadmap, and to provide support for commercialization and sustaining activity.
  • Provide technical assistance and data to manufacturing, provide technical expertise on design for manufacturability and best manufacturing techniques, train as necessary.
  • Leads overall technical strategy with assistance of the Operations leadership team with the development of department direction and plans to carry out overall operations plans and functions.
  • Collaborates with other departments and builds effective working relationships; negotiates to build broad-based support and/or persuades others in order to influence important outcomes.
  • Provide monthly update and reports as needed

  • Previous direct experience in medical device industry or other FDA regulated environment desired
  • Ability to manage projects, teams, maintain timelines, transfer technology and execute projects in a MFG environment
  • Proficiency with engineering software tools for engineering and statistical analysis
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new/challenging things.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma experience is desired
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and management skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 8-12 years of industry experience
  • 2-5 years of previous management or lead experience
