Description:
Progesys is a company recognized for its expertise in managing industrial projects and their optimal transition from construction to operation. The company is based in Laval (Canada) since 2002 and has offices in the United States, the Middle East, Asia and South America.
As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all engineering activities related to the construction and operation of a vertically integrated phosphoric acid facility. This role requires ensuring compliance with engineering standards, optimizing project execution, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a high-performance and sustainable facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful engineering execution of the facility, optimizing performance, and aligning with sustainability and profitability objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering management within industrial projects, preferably in chemical processing, mining, or fertilizer production.
- Strong knowledge of phosphoric acid production, industrial plant design, process engineering, and construction management.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and permitting processes.
- Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects, ensuring quality, cost control, and timely execution.
- Strong leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and excellent communication abilities to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify technical challenges and implement innovative solutions.
- Experience with engineering design and project management tools.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with changing project demands.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering teams across various disciplines, ensuring seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies to optimize plant design, construction, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the selection, procurement, and integration of key process equipment and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, and safety standards in all engineering activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including construction, procurement, and operations teams, to align engineering efforts with project objectives.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Review and approve engineering documentation, including specifications, technical reports, and design drawings.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating best practices in plant design, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
- Support commissioning and startup activities, ensuring all systems and processes meet operational requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate decision-making and project execution.
