QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experienced technical manager skilled in leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience with JavaScript, particularly React and Node, managing medium-to-large web applications.
  • 3-4 years of experience managing software engineering teams, ideally within Agile SCRUM frameworks (with at least 2 years in Agile).
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences, from engineers to business leaders.
  • Experience in building and leading teams within a startup environment.
  • Strong organizational skills for handling budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent analytical skills for evaluating information and solving complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities, enabling productive team management.
  • Advocacy for team members, ensuring resources and support for their success.
  • Experience in engineering recruitment is a plus.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our talented team in pushing the boundaries of innovation in the online marketplace for artisans. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with business stakeholders and engineers, driving the creation and launch of industry-leading products that redefine how materials are sourced and traded online.

IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Engineering Manager on key initiatives and strategies.
  • Engage cross-functional partners and stakeholders, including Product Managers, to set and achieve optimal project outcomes.
  • Provide progress updates to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Serve as a problem solver and team coordinator, removing roadblocks and fostering high productivity.
  • Organize Agile ceremonies and team-building activities to strengthen team cohesion.
  • Support onboarding for new employees, facilitating smooth transitions and integration.
  • Mentor team members to enhance their skills and nurture their growth.
  • Measure team impact and set clear expectations and goals.
  • Drive engineering initiatives with cross-functional collaboration, influencing at an organizational level.
  • Contribute to hiring strategies as needed, supporting the recruitment of top engineering talent.
