Purpose of Role: The Engineering Operations Director will manage the MEP service contract, collaborating with Facilities, and Property Managers to ensure KPIs and SLRs are met while ensuring The Estate Estate performance increases and operational carbon targets are achieved.
The Engineering Operations Director is responsible for implementing and managing the operational services in engineering, Energy and carbon efficiency and related projects required across The Crown Estate Central London portfolio, providing an exceptional standard of service that is consistent, seamless, efficient and without interruption to ensure the customers and their visitors can focus on their core business.
The Engineering Operations Director is expected to support the Performance Team with the digitisation of The Estates operational platform, collaborating, innovating and trialling products which will increase performance and reduce operational carbon.
Lead and manage the technical service team to provide the service reflecting the vision and ambition of The Crown Estate. The role requires the effective management of the Technical Team, service partners, and project managers to provide the services within scope, within budget and in accordance with the central London Technical Services Strategy, contractual obligations and key performance indicators.
Ensure that compliance and operational management is maintained both statutorily and organisationally ensuring that policy and legislation are followed in accordance with all required standards. They will drive the company vision, values and strategic goals and will be responsible for measuring and driving performance to expected levels and standards.
Ensure that policies and procedures are fit-for-purpose and that services are delivered and developed in accordance with the standards defined.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Have a leading personal profile fit to represent the business externally, while managing a team of varied individuals.
- Have a progressive attitude towards implementation in complex and demanding environments, while accommodate change, innovation and new ideas
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Building Engineering related subjects and a good understanding of operational carbon reduction
- Over 15 years Engineering experience
- Over 10 years Building services experience
- Committed to outstanding customer service
- Meticulous organisational skills, conscientious and driven
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to implement continual improvements to the department’s service delivery
- Willingness and flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required
- Experience in change management and operational transition planning.
- Experience of the task involved in developing and implementing procedures, standards and guides for operational excellence
- Experience of operational facilities management to meet KPIs
- Proven knowledge of technical services, sustainability and energy management
- Proven knowledge of building regulations, legislation compliance and best working practice
- Financial acumen to manage budgets and contract costs
- Practiced in writing effective business reports and developing processes
