We supply all the UK’s food retailers with everything from Sandwiches, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, pickles and ready meals, and in FY23, we generated revenues of £1.9bn.
Our vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising of 17 depots nationwide, enables us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties.
At Bow, we have a team of around 800 colleagues. We produce sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls and salads for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Asda, Morrisons and BP Wild Bean Café. Whilst at Heathrow, we are a growing team with around 450 colleagues. We produce chilled & hot eat Food for Now products including salads, sandwiches & wraps, Protein Pots & snacking. As well as Food for Later products such as ready meals & sides for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Amazon Fresh, Asda, Aldi, Co-op, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.
Responsibilities:
As Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for our Bow and Heathrow sites, managing multiple projects and a budget of £1.5million - £3million, working closely with both site leadership teams and the General Manager.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Develop user requirement specifications to ensure the clear and common understanding of agreed objectives and standards are established as the basis for project planning
- Proactively manage end-to-end project or change implementation within well-defined timelines and budgets, covering all facets of implementation, ensuring that project objectives are achieved
- Ensure that change control procedures are adhered to and that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and ensure that these are endorsed by stakeholders
- Monitor bought-in services, including external suppliers such as technology partners or outsourced providers, to ensure the adherence to standards and the delivery of agreed specifications
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could affect the success of the project through a maintenance of a topical risk management plan which ensures that all stakeholders are aware of obstacles to successful delivery
- Provide advisory support for Product Development, engaging with the team to ensure engineering involvement from product concept through to launch is achieved
- Liaise with customers on specific projects to ensure alignment of technology, performance, quality and technical standards so that the general manufacturing solution is fully supported
- Seek out engineering solutions for recognised manufacturing unit issues including capacity, efficiency, PD, Health and Safety, Hygiene, Technical, Environmental to ensure continuous improvement in the locations standards of performance
