WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

Please note this role does offer hybrid working, our model sets out a minimum 60% onsite / 40% home working split

REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead and coordinate regulatory activity and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation from initiation through design to service.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP), safety studies, and provide technical input for regulatory compliance.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders to produce and implement technical safety assessments, reports and safety cases for plant and operations.
  • Contribute to and carry out assessment of modifications that may affect existing safety assessments and ensure they remain valid.
  • Contribute to ensuring best technical safety practice is established and followed throughout the business.
  • Ensure that products designed by Tokamak Energy comply with necessary standards and directives and that appropriate declarations of conformity (e.g. CE/UKCA/UL) can be made.
  • Take ownership of product Technical Files and ensure that approved engineering reports and operating instructions necessary for regulatory compliance have been completed.
  • Identify, interpret, and educate teams on appropriate regulatory standards, monitor their development and implement updates as required.
  • Take a leading role in defining and sustaining our cohort of in-house subject matter experts for specific hazards, standards and regulations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience dealing with notified bodies and regulators in a relevant industry.
  • Degree qualified likely with Chartered Engineer status or comparable experience in a related field.
  • Experience or knowledge of safety assessment techniques including HIRA, HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, etc.
  • Creation and implementation of technical safety documentation and reports, preferably in a regulated and high-hazard industrial environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a positive, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with business and functional leaders.
  • Experience writing ALARP/ALARA statements for radiological hazards.
  • Extensive experience in regulatory compliance and technical safety with a good knowledge of UK and international legislative requirements
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multi-company technical safety and regulatory requirements effectively.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise, work independently and explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders.
