Description:

Dextra Group plc. require an Engineering Services Technician. The Engineering Services Team act as a service department to the Group, overseeing bill of material creation and changes, and wiring diagram creation. You would be working office hours 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Dextra Group plc. remains the largest privately owned luminaire manufacturer in the UK by continuing to invest in it’s machinery, facilities and staff.

POST REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of our current products and assembly methods is preferable.
  • CAD and Solidworks experience is an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
  • Ability to manage a project from conception to conclusion.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Good attitude and ability to self-motivate.
  • An understanding of both Salvagnini and Amada machine tools would be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake programming of machinery including punch, laser, router, saw, milling, additive manufacturing and folding machinery.
  • To work with design / production to establish effective manufacturing solutions to new and existing designs.
  • To ensure that all aspects of manufacturing and assembly are considered in physical design work.
  • To develop and produce prototype samples and consider the engineering possibilities to ensure the production process is efficient and optimised.
  • To provide help on build issues within the metal shop and assembly in the form of telephone support, emails or face to face.
  • To assist the shop floor with production adjustment of folding programmes to allow for metalwork quality and folding reactions of material.
  • To support the Design and Engineering departments in updating and maintaining CAD, Solidworks and associated documents and ensure that data provided to the production facility is up to date and correct.
  • To assist with other functions of the Engineering Department as required.
  • Follow all Quality Control guidelines set by the Company.
  • Follow the requirements of the Company’s ISO Procedure.
  • Follow the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, work instructions & safe systems of work.
