Engineering Specialist - Industrial
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma

Experience:

  • Must possess the ability to analyze large data sets and provide data driven direction for route cause analysis.
  • Must have the ability to lead meetings.
  • Must have the ability to present solutions to senior management.
  • Must have strong written, verbal, communications skills.
  • Must have the necessary skill set to have job placement flexibility and the expectation to rotate to various positions within the plant such as Production or Quality.
  • Must display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System. Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities.
  • Must have a proven willingness to take a participatory approach to union relations and be a team player.

Preferred Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or Data Analysis. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience
o MODAPTS Certification
o GSPAS knowledge
o Microsoft Office

  • Analyze data for direct and indirect labor standards and methods. Identify opportunities based on cost opportunities. Track labor, efficient manpower utilization and line balancing.
  • Conduct Job Ergonomics evaluations.
  • Analyze production data to support constraint management which includes cycle time analysis and bottle neck analysis.
  • Analyze plant methods and standards and recommend the most efficient distribution of manpower and review daily employee manpower.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of cost estimates of new or revised methods and standards.
  • Review production and non-production operations for adherence to standards and to identify opportunities.
  • Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and review employee proposals and suggestions.
  • Conduct process audits.
  • Develop cost saving project proposals and write projects as required.
  • Analyze utilization rates to Interface with Production Supervision and Unifor to settle job disputes.
  • Assist production in planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes.
