Job Description
As the Engineering Stores Supervisor you will support the effective operation of the Engineering department and you will have overall responsibility for your budgeted spend and take responsibility for the ordering of spare parts, goods and services required to ensure that downtime is minimised while adhering to the fiscal controls in place.
You will be required to manage your own work load to maintain and be accountable for accurate stock control, document filing and data entry for all engineering parts and products. You will be an excellent communicator with the courage to challenge suppliers, managers and engineers on cost.
The Stores Manager will report directly into the Engineering Manager but will also receive direction from the Assistant Engineering Manager. You will work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that downtime is kept to a minimum through accurate stock management and that critical spares are never out of stock.
With the pending introduction of new systems such as the CMMS PMS, the role will potentially have people reporting directly to you. You will need to manage and control their workloads as part of your role.

  • Excellent IT Skills including Word and Excel

  • Inventory and Stock Management control
  • Time Management
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically
  • Good numeracy and IT skills
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organise work
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork and count stock items
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and impact of failure/cost of poor quality
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements IOSH (not imperative)
  • Team Working
