The South Bow Pipe Integrity and Facility Pipe Integrity teams are seeking a student interested in gaining technical engineering experience that is currently enrolled in Bachelor of Science with an Engineering focus, Bachelor of Engineering or related field. Â
The Integrity team manages the integrity of either the mainline pipe (Pipe Integrity Engineering) or the piping in facilities (Facility Pipe Integrity) by developing, implementing and continually improving programs and risk-based solutions while concurrently meeting regulatory requirements to maintain safe and reliable operations.
The targeted start date for this work experience opportunity is May 2025 . During your work-term, you will work closely with professionals in both teams within the Integrity department, and you’ll be responsible for a variety of pipe integrity support activities related to the execution and development of pipeline integrity programs. These tasks include implementation of risk-based solutions, stress analysis, data gathering, and support of project execution and engineering assessments.
As a student in this group, you’ll be part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment to gain exposure to the energy industry and other tremendous development opportunities.
•   Posting Close Date: November 18, 2024.
•   This is a 16-month opportunity with a possibility for extension.Â
•   Roles are based in Calgary and responsibilities will depend on your team and work location.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSÂ

•   Actively enrolled in an engineering degree program (Mechanical, Chemical, or Energy Engineering), or equivalent, with three years of education completeÂ
•   Enrollment at an accredited university, and returning to school for at least one semester following your work termÂ
•   Exhibit a safety mindset, in a professional and personal settingÂ
•   Must exhibit the South Bow values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives

Responsibilities:

•   Project Support: Working with our subject matter experts on execution of projects to ensure smooth implementation of integrity programs
•   Support senior engineers with the management of threats through engineering analysis (e.g. stress, corrosion), completing integrity assessments (in-line inspections), data analysis and development of project scopes
•   Analyze data, summarize information, and create charts, graphs, reports and presentations
•   Ensure compliance to South Bow procedures and regulatory requirements
•   Other tasks, as required
