Description:

An exciting role awaits an experienced leader who enjoys a challenging and diverse workforce. As Engineering Superintendent, you will oversee the maintenance and capital engineering team within the Electrical Instrumentation & Control (EIC) area of responsibility at our Macknade Mill in Ingham, Northern Queensland. Your primary goal is to ensure that work activities are conducted in alignment with the established schedule to support the efficient operations of our mill. You will have support from design and project teams and be a part of a high performing team that values safety.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

We are seeking an individual with strong safety values, leadership skills, and solid stakeholder engagement capabilities. You will have a highly structured approach and a keen attention to detail. You will hold tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical trade, along with a minimum of 5 years in a technical role within a heavy industrial environment. Post trade electrical qualifications, Experience in the sugar industry, proficiency in using SAP are favourable but not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute maintenance activities in line with the asset strategy.
  • Lead teams in servicing, maintaining, and repairing all equipment.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management teams to develop medium to long-term plans and procedures to optimize business efficiency and viability.
  • Predict corrective maintenance needs and assist in scheduling to minimize factory or production disruptions.
  • Work closely with the site Scheduler to create a feasible work schedule based on planned work packages.
  • Analyse historical and current data to identify improvement opportunities and enhance factory and plant item reliability.
  • Continuously review execution schedules with the site Scheduler to ensure efficient and effective task completion.
  • Support the enhancement of existing asset management systems and processes.
  • Partner with the Reliability Manager/Engineers to formulate mid to long-term factory and capital plans, goals, and strategies.
  • Participate in the selection, design, and commissioning of new plant and equipment to ensure their success and effectiveness.
  • Manage the EIC budget at the site with the support of the Engineering Manager.
  • Manage the interface between electrical and other strategic areas at the site.
  • Effectively communicate EIC issues and solutions to stakeholders on site
  • Serve as the initial point of contact at the site for all EIC issues and make decisions regarding escalation requirements.
