Project: Technical and management expertise to support the acquisition of aircraft systems and subsystems
All personnel shall have twelve (12) months or more experience in a SAP environment within the last five (5) years. The position will be considered filled only when the employee is indoctrinated into SAPs.

Responsibilities:

The contractor shall provide engineering support for new and ongoing projects being executed by AFLCMC/XA-AT. The contractor shall have the experience and expertise to independently execute and shall perform the following tasks:


    1. Apply knowledge of and expertise in DoD, USAF, and common engineering and scientific principles, criteria, and procedures to improve planned and existing USAF and joint service weapon system manufacture, operations, re-manufacture and de-militarization operations and oversight.


      1. Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.


        1. Assist with the development of requirements and technology needs into action plans and policies necessary to improve and retain worldclass manufacturing, operations, re-manufacturing, and demilitarization of weapon system capabilities.


          1. Perform technical/mission analyses of existing and potential operational requirements, assists in developing system concepts and performs technological/trade-off study assessments of proposed designs.


            1. Develop and review the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements).


              1. Assist with developmental planning support in the evaluation of military missions to be accomplished and related requirements documentation including defining the set of military missions to be performed.


                1. Review and analyze proposals, including regulatory and other policy driver changes or proposed modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility.


                  1. Review specifications, including system, system segment, and equipment specifications, and Interface Control Documents involved in programs.


                    1. Support and conduct engineering performance, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, cost performance, lifecycle cost, producability,maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical, and schedule risk assessment and scheduling trade-off studies.


                      1. Support and conduct systems analyses to include, but not limited to, system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessment.


                        1. Support the development and evaluation of IMP, IMS, and Systems Engineering Detail Schedule engineering cost estimates.


                          1. Evaluate systems test plans and Test and Evaluation Master Plans and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem and component testing.


                            1. Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development and verification of systems and equipment.


                              1. Support weapons systems lifecycle including but not limited to analysis of alternatives, creation of investment strategies, manufacturing, support, and end-of-life processes.


                                1. Teach learning modules within AT courses to industry and government participants and assist in curriculum development, as required.


                                  1. Lead creation (technical writing) and maintenance of multiple collateral and SAP SCGs


                                    1. Be responsible for staffing and coordination with multiple DoD service and industry security, technical, financial, and contracting working groups to review and adjudicate SCG feedback comments for approval of the SCGs.


                                      1. Staff and publish SCGs to support the entire DoD AT community.


                                        1. Provide reach back support, under optional T&M position, as needed for transition or other expertise.

                                        • Additional Position Requirements: A BS degree in an engineering field related to the specific discipline described for the position. No credit is accepted for experience for engineering positions. Engineering and scientific disciplines may require up to ten years of experience in that discipline and will be specified in the RFP as needed. Required disciplines could include but are not limited to: Systems Engineer, Manufacturing Systems Engineer, Reliability and Maintainability Engineer, Systems Integration Engineer, Armament Integration Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Radar Engineer, Systems Effectiveness Engineer, Low Observables Engineer, Communications Engineer, Aeronautical Engineer, Materials Engineer, Computer Engineer, Engineer, Test Engineer, Software Engineer, Microelectronics Engineer, Development Engineer, Sustainment Engineer, Systems Architect, Avionics Engineer.
