Apply to find out more. About you: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Engineering Team Lead to lead a new squad within our larger Collins table reservation engineering team. Crafting scalable, secure, and high-performance software is important to you. You have a strong background in PHP and JavaScript with a desire to work with Laravel and React TypeScript. As a Lead you are also passionate about supporting and training the engineering team around you, and have demonstrable experience of owning and delivering projects. Day-to-day, you will: • Coach the team to use modern techniques, patterns and practises to build accessible, scalable and evolvable software that is robust and stands the test of time. APIs must maintain appropriate backwards compatibility through agreeing and managing contracts and will often be consumed by 3rd parties. • Demonstrate the ability to co-ordinate and plan engineering sprint/release activities, prioritising according to risk and changes in delivery schedule. • Work closely with your peers to ensure cross-team and cross-division activities are performed cohesively and efficiently, delivering the desired results for the business. • Display ownership, responsibility and good decision-making, and will be able to coach and co-ordinate team-mates to achieve deliverables. • Have a good understanding of software industry engineering standards, applying them appropriately to the scenario at hand. As a well-rounded Engineering Team Lead, your Skills and Experiences likely include: • Good leadership skills to support, impower and train a team of Software and QA Engineers. • Demonstrated proficiency in PHP and JavaScript is essential. Ideal candidates will have experience with the Laravel framework for PHP and React with TypeScript. • Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues and challenges. Aptitude for troubleshooting and finding innovative solutions. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients.
