Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Engineering Technical Officer (Design), you will be an essential member of the civil design team, providing engineering and CAD services. You will play a key role in designing, estimating, and preparing specifications for various civil components of the Capital Works Program, including roadworks, drainage systems and traffic management initiatives. From feasibility studies to project management, you will oversee engineering projects from start to finish while providing expert advice and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. You will conduct community consultations, build partnerships and continuously improve systems and processes to enhance the infrastructure of the City of Melville in line with organisational goals.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Proficient use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D for design and drafting
- Sound knowledge of road and traffic engineering principles, Austroads design guide publications and Main Roads WA standards
- Proficient use of Microsoft office suite including Word and Excel
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
- White Card
