Engineering Technician
We currently have a requirement for an Engineering Technician interested in the planning and design of roads and streets projects to join our Roads and Streets team in Ireland. The successful candidate will work within the Roads and Streets team delivering a range of urban and rural design projects including road projects (both road improvements and new roads), urban street design incorporating Public Transport and Active Travel and Greenway projects.
The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience within an established consultancy with flexible working options between home and office. They will be involved in a diverse and challenging range of projects for high profile clients within Ireland and further afield. This role also offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Level 7 Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Skills in 2D/3D CAD (Microstation (preferably Connect Edition), AutoCAD)
  • Track record of CAD production, implementation of drawing standards
  • Strong digital skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work through complex processes
  • Ability to work as part of a team

DESIRABLE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Awareness of drawing production processes in ORD (OpenRoads Designer) is desirable but upskilling through training will be provided
  • Common Data Environments
  • ESRI ArcGIS or equivalent

Responsibilities:

The role includes working in a BIM environment in the delivery of models and drawings. You will be required to deliver projects to the required technical standards in a timely manner, reporting to the team leader or project manager as appropriate. The ideal candidate will have MicroStation experience and you will be responsible for drawing production processes in ORD (OpenRoads Designer). You will be provided with training in relevant softwares as required and work closely with senior members of staff for guidance.

  • Work in a vibrant team delivering sustainable transport solutions on complex projects at various stages of development from planning, appraisal and environmental evaluation to detailed design and construction.
  • You will prepare 3d models and drawings to support technical designs for projects, in accordance with approved standards in a BIM Environment.
  • Implement the appropriate QA procedures for all deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively and in a team environment with colleagues, project managers and other internal design disciplines.
