Description:

OVERVIEW

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-orientated Engineering Technician to join our growing and dynamic Engineering Team. Woodlore is a highly efficient and flexible manufacturing facility located in Brampton specializing in laminate case good production for furniture. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Engineering team with the development of new product solutions, as well as for ensuring that products meet the design intent, are manufacturing friendly, meet cost targets and meet industry testing and safety standards. The Engineering Technician will work on multi-disciplinary project teams where consensus building and quality planning will be key to success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant certification or degree in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in the office furniture manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Proven experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (Creo).
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation.
  • Experience in creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in working with kitchens is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Creo.
  • Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various projects.
  • Program CNC machines to ensure precise manufacturing of components.
  • Collaborate with the design and production teams to optimize product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to design and production.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
