POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Technologist with 2-3 years of experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will focus on optimising our SMT processes and managing various production systems to ensure the efficiency and quality of our LED lighting products. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our production capabilities and supporting the seamless integration of new technologies and prototypes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in a technical discipline such as electronics, electrical, mechanical, or engineering technology.
- 2-3 years of experience in an engineering role, with a focus on SMT processes and equipment management.
- Strong understanding of SMT production lines, automatic storage systems, and testing equipment.
- Proficiency with ERP system for production management and data analysis.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and technical reporting.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in electronics and LED lighting production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse and modify new and existing engineering technologies.
- Analyse and optimise SMT production processes to enhance efficiency, yield, and quality.
- Track and evaluate production efficiencies and outcomes.
- Optimise automatic storage systems to ensure accurate and efficient handling of components and materials.
- Conduct research on new technologies and designs, or refine existing ones to meet current projects requirements and technological advancements.
- Implement changes that reduce physical effort, increase safety, and minimise handling costs.
- Design and modify equipment and processes to improve their efficiency and resource utilisation.
- Utilise ERP systems to streamline production processes and enhance coordination between design, prototyping, and manufacturing stages.
- Analyse production data to drive continuous improvements.
- Maintain SMT and other production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Educate equipment operators on the proper use of SMT and other equipment.
- Assist in developing and executing routine maintenance schedules.
- Prepare and submit proposals for upgrading equipment and process improvements.
- Assist with testing components and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and operational requirements.
- Work with engineering, design, and production teams to address issues, implement process improvements, and support new product introductions.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on manufacturing test failures and prepare detailed reports outlining approaches, tools, techniques, and recommended corrective actions.Create and maintain detailed documentation for equipment, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
