Who will you be working with?
Bach-Simpson is the lead Event Recorder OEM in the North American Transit market. It designs, develops, and maintains various electronic equipment for trains. The monitoring team in this division is responsible for the Bach-Simpson monitoring products and projects.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the software team in Bach-Simpson, you will report to the Software Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining and extending a set of internal Web-based tools and performing administrative duties including formal documentation releases and configuration control.

The following are the required qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field
  • Proficient in SQL queries and Database setup
  • Proficient in C#, ASP, ASP.NET, Visual Studio, IIS
  • Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and software source control
  • Experience with Solidworks and Altium, or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly and accurately in English

Efficient self-motivator with a proven ability to prioritize multiple streams of work and meet deadlines

  • Excellent attention to detail

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required

What will your typical day look like? The following are essential responsibilities for this role:

  • Managing Engineering Change Notices (how we control changes to our products)
  • Organizing and hosting Change Review Board meetings (how we plan changes to our products)
  • Managing documentation releases into our Configuration Management system (how we control changes to documents)
  • Entering data into the Material Resource Planning system
  • Creating, updating, and troubleshooting Web tools and services
  • Creating automations to improve work efficiency, accuracy, and eliminate your own manual data entry tasks
  • Assisting Engineer and Software groups as needed within your capabilities
