The Storage Engineering team is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle, including analysis, evaluation, design, testing, integration and sustained engineering of storage products for the firm’s private and public cloud deployments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Between 3-5 years of experience in UNIX OS based solution engineering
  • Solid fundamentals in Linux operating systems and prior experience managing production systems
  • Strong LAN/WAN and TCP/IP troubleshooting skills
  • Strong NFSv3 and v4 and CIFS working experience and familiarity with scale-out file systems
  • In-depth understanding of data management, monitoring and performance tuning
  • Working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, SMTP, NTP, SSH, LDAP and various filesystems
  • Previous script writing experience (any of Bash, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Basic storage/NAS administration experienceKnowledge of database platforms, how they operate and interoperate with Linux operating systems


    • You are competent in Linux/UNIX-like operating systems, I/O and network stack tuning, POSIX file systems and performance profiling.

    • You understand how to deliver reliable services out of unreliable components
    • Familiar with DevOps tools and version control systems (SVN, Git)
    • Familiar with SRE principles such as user journeys, SLI/SLO, and synthetic probers
    • Experience with engineering and operating a hybrid cloud delivery model with focus on data coherency between on-prem and off-prem components.Strong analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proficiency with Python, Bash or other scripting languages with a focus on testing and sound SDLC practices.
    • Beneficial, but not required, experience in block storage (Dell, Hitachi, HPE), as well as file (Netapp, Dell Unity)
    • Familiarity with Elastic Search and Kibana

    Responsibilities:

    Storage Engineering are looking for a new member to join our London team. The prospective candidate will be currently working in a UNIX platform engineering Unix engineering function and have experience with engineering and implementing a variety of Storage file solutions.
    This UNIX engineer role is key to our File Product Engineering team where we integrate our File Storage solutions with the firms Unix OS infrastructure. You will be responsible for engineering secure, highly performant file solutions for the firm critical applications. You will be working on key projects to uplift NFS file security and share entitlement and authentication management.
    You will also partner with key stakeholders within the application teams and within Storage, striving to maintain client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and appropriate risk management.
