Job Description/Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to effectively teach other language subject(s) is an advantage
• Proficient in English language

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Curriculum Development: They design and implement engaging curricula that cover literature, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and comprehension skills aligned with educational standards and benchmarks.
• Lesson Planning: Teachers plan daily lessons that are engaging and educational, using a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
• Instruction: They deliver lessons on English language and literature, including how to analyze texts, understand literary devices, and appreciate various genres of literature.
• Assessment: English teachers create and administer assessments to evaluate students’ progress in reading, writing, and oral language skills. This includes quizzes, tests, essays, and presentations.
• Feedback and Support: Providing constructive feedback on assignments and tests is key. They also offer extra help to students struggling with course material.
• Classroom Management: They maintain a positive learning environment, manage classroom dynamics, and enforce school policies.
• Professional Development: Teachers continuously update their skills and knowledge in the field of English education through professional development opportunities.
• Parent and Guardian Communication: They communicate with parents and guardians about students’ progress, potential issues, and achievements.
• Extracurricular Involvement: Many English teachers also get involved in extracurricular activities, such as advising clubs related to literature, writing, or public speaking.
• Literacy Promotion: They work to foster a love of reading and writing, encouraging students to explore various texts and express themselves creatively.
