Description:
JOB SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Enhanced Paediatric Physiotherapist to undertake a clinical and strategic leadership role, delivering, managing and evaluating the acute paediatric neurology service on the paediatric wards within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. The role is based at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, and you will work as part of the acute paediatric physiotherapy team, providing services to the paediatric wards including neurology, respiratory, orthopaedic and surgical cases. The role will also include outpatient clinics in the specialist field, as well as supporting the neonatal unit in the absence of the neonatal physiotherapist. Participation in the weekend services to the adult and paediatric wards is required, as well as the flexibility to work across the physiotherapy department as required by service needs.
This is a part time, permanent post.

- Support the coordination and delivery of paediatric acute physiotherapy services ensuring efficient and effective service provision.
- To undertake a lead role in the management of acute paediatric neurology on the paediatric wards and lead in the planning, co-ordinating, delivery, evaluation and improvement of physiotherapy services.
- To carry out enhanced assessment and treatment of paediatric inpatients and outpatients with neurological presentations.
- To support the paediatric physiotherapy service providing input to children and young people with respiratory, orthopaedic and surgical presentations on the paediatric wards and the neonatal unit.
- To deliver paediatric physiotherapy outpatient clinics in specialist field and triage caseload.
- To provide clinical and strategic leadership for the Paediatric Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy service with responsibilities for safety, quality, training and clinical governance agendas; supporting the workforce to deliver exceptional care.
- To work flexibly across the department as required by service need.
