SUMMARY
Reporting to the Lead, Enterprise Data Steward– the Enterprise Data Governance Analyst will be instrumental in advancing our Data Governance framework, expanding our data catalog, and promoting a data-centric culture across the organization. This role will partner directly with business and technical stakeholders to increase data literacy, provide guidance on data related issues, and ensure the organization has the appropriate governance in place related to the management and usage of Trader data. This role is expected to take a hands-on approach in the development of the Data Governance Policy & Procedures playbook to ensure the appropriate compliance is adhered to.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree/diploma or equivalent in an analytical area (Math, Statistics, Computer Science or a field related to information, data management, analytics, or financial services).
- 5-7+ years of experience in IT applications or data management functions.
- Extensive knowledge of data management and data governance principles, implementations, and latest industry trends
- Record of handling multiple business stakeholders, including actively engaging and aligning with enterprise senior leadership to drive data governance initiatives and strategies in line with the overall organizational goals
- Working knowledge of various information repository types, including metadata, CMDB, business glossary, etc
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure, Google or AWS
- Proficiency with popular data governance tools and platforms (ie: Ataccama or Alation)
- Ability to manage business and technical relationships, and ensure effective communication between them
- Ability to lead meetings with various stakeholders and SMEs, promote vision, build consensus and guide to decisions
- Drive the analysis and resolution of data governance issues (e.g., data ownership and system of record determination, coherent usage) in alignment with standards and best practices.
- Define and mature the measurements and KPIs used to evaluate the effectiveness of enterprise data governance efforts organization wide.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively promote the importance of data governance and to influence data practices across the organization.
- Strong proficiency in MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Confluence and SharePoint technology
Responsibilities:
- Recommend and develop data governance policies and standards organization-wide
- Ensure on-going effective communication on the definition of business data ownership and stewardship across the Trader Enterprise
- As a key member of the Enterprise Data Management team, you will be collaborating and consulting with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior functional managers, executives, and Data Stewards to ensure the policies are made a reality through the governance and stewardship program
- Execute the governance program and operating framework, with a focus on data credibility and adoption of enterprise data assets through policies, standards, and processes.
- Support the Stewardship program by expanding the impact of data governance across the enterprise and promote data-centric approach to manage data as an asset
- Define and mature the measurements and KPIs used to evaluate the effectiveness of enterprise data governance efforts organization wide
- Identify new opportunities to enhance the value of the organization’s data sets
- Support the enterprise data stewardship program to drive data governance adoption, working with data stewards across lines of business to embed governance practices and enhance a data-driven culture
- Act as a data management advocate, consulting with stakeholders to improve data governance literacy, advance data maturity, and support strategic data initiatives
- Collaborate with domain data leaders to address data issues and leverage opportunities, ensuring data governance frameworks are in line with enterprise goals and regulatory standards
- Evaluate and refine program performance through feedback from business and technology partners, using insights to optimize data governance and management processes
- Identify data governance process gaps and work with stakeholders to design solutions to address them
