We are currently recruiting for a Enterprise Risk & Financial Controls Manager supporting the Centrica Power (CP) business. This is a key role within the finance team and will take responsibility for maintaining the Enterprise Risk framework across the CP business areas including Centrica Energy Assets and Nuclear. The role holder will identify, assess, and manage the risks that may affect the strategic objectives, operations, reputation, and financial performance of the business and will establish and implement risk management policies and processes for managing significant Business Unit risks.
The role holder will provide expert insight and facilitation to Business Unit and Functional application of the Enterprise Risk process and the role holder will need to develop detailed working knowledge of the systems and processes in the CP businesses.
The role holder will work with the Senior Leadership Team of the Business Unit to drive an effective and efficient Internal Control environment. Leading the CP business through the Strategic Risk and Controls Program by liaising closely with the Group controls team, they will oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of the financial control framework for CP.
This role can be based out of our London (close to Marble Arch) or Windsor office and we encourage hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the Group Enterprise Risk team, lead the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management strategy, framework, and methodology across CP, including identification of mitigating actions and controls as necessary
- Respond to business change, macro trends or government / regulator intervention quickly and efficiently by ensuring the Enterprise Risk and Internal Control framework remains relevant and effective
- Develop and maintain risk registers, risk appetite status, inherent and residual risk indicators and risk reports in accordance with Group policies and procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate and facilitate the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of risks across CP through collaboration with the Senior Leadership team and risk owners, including challenging the risk submissions
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk mitigation and control measures and provide guidance and support to all stakeholder on risk management best practices, tools, and techniques.
- Conduct risk analysis and evaluation using quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Plan and execute financial control testing and assessment activities and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial control environment.
- Identify and report any financial control deficiencies, gaps, or weaknesses, and recommend and implement corrective actions and improvements.
- Prepare and present risk reports and dashboards to Senior Management, Risk Committees and other stakeholders as required and in accordance with Group policies, including quarterly Risk Committees and quarterly BU Risk and Control meetings
- Review external events and conduct horizon scanning to help identify emerging risks and / or calibrate themes reported at Group, BU and Functional level
- Maintain a strong connection with Group risk and control team, including being a key stakeholder in the Group Strategic Risk and Control program, ensuring the BU meets all Group requirements in line with expectations
- Advise on effective and efficient documentation of controls and support control assurance and improvement projects
- Report on the effectiveness of the System of Risk Management and Internal Control, including self-certification requirements and recommending actions to address weaknesses / areas for improvement
- Deliver training and support to the BU and Functions on the use of the Group Risk management tools, controls System and wider controls excellence
- Draft Group-wide risk and control disclosures as required
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and consultants
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in risk management.
