About the role
As ATB’s next Entrepreneur Event Specialist, you will be championing event experiences for clients and team members. The Entrepreneur Event Specialist is an event experience specialist who also possesses traits of a community advocate and entrepreneur enthusiast. You are a self-starter and someone who has a proven track record of creating impactful events and experiences for entrepreneurs or business owners. When executing our events, you are keeping line of sight to deepening our relationships with clients and creating meaningful engagement opportunities with our team members, to raise ATB’s profile in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and deliver against the Entrepreneurial Growth Team’s annual goals.
Accountabilities
- Develop thorough understanding of ATBs Entrepreneur clients, key audience behaviors, market/banking trends and competitors, event engagement habits, etc.; utilize these insights to enhance and execute event strategies
- Plan for and execute all aspects of events and community initiatives, such as workshops, panels and networking sessions - both in person and virtual
- Manage and coordinate all requirements for event registration, production, programming, speakers, and communications with partners and attendees
- Occasionally introduce and/or facilitate events, workshops and other sessions
- Support other members of the team in execution of webinars, community participation, etc. as needed
- Build and deliver a followup communication plan for event participants
- Leverage surveys and other reporting to generate insights on engagement and satisfaction with content, interest in banking services and products, continuing conversations with ATB, etc.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Entrepreneur Engagement to identify, evaluate and execute entrepreneur sponsored and partnered event opportunities for ATB in the community
- Support the coordination of requests and delivery of ATB Entrepreneur (and other) team members for presentations and panels at partnership, community and industry event
- Remain current (or ahead of the curve) with trends in entrepreneurship, event planning and community engagement; bringing new ideas and fresh perspectives forward
Skills, experience & requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in managing events - planning, development and execution; with excellent project management and attention to detail
- Proven ability to think strategically to weave event content, goals and objectives into a vision and thematic development of events
- Proven ability to manage through high pressure situations, re-prioritize and problem solve when needed, in fast paced and culturally diverse environments
- Exceptional communication skills, and experience speaking in front of small crowds
- Experience with current marketing and/or event platforms, tools and tech, such as Streamyard, Eventbrite, Hubspot, etc.
- Strong passion for the success of entrepreneurs in Alberta; presence in the entrepreneurial ecosystem community an asset
- Post-secondary education in event planning, entrepreneurship, business, marketing or communications considered an asset
