The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Vertical Lift Division is seeking an Entry Level Industrial Engineer to join our team in Mesa, Arizona. Our team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We support the fabrication and assembly for Attack Helicopter Programs. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.
The Entry Level Industrial Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that is immersed in high intensity development, production, and sustainment projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to interact and coordinate engineering solutions with production operations, Integrated Product Teams, suppliers, and our direct customers. This position will focus on Attack Helicopter manufacturing within the areas of structures, final assembly, sub assembly buildup, paint and Production Flight Test.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): (see required education and experience for this level below)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Industrial Engineering Degree preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies basic industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.
  • Supports the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.
  • Participates in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
  • Assists with designing, maintaining, and optimizing the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Conducts basic work flow design and analysis.
  • Develops simple models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.
  • Supports research, design, develop, improve, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Supports implementation plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Documents product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.
  • Supports the preparation of operations plans, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
  • Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.
  • Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.
  • Follows compliance requirements with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.
