Entry level laboratory assistant (Pathology Aide) Histology

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We’re seeking an enthusiastic staff member to join our fast-paced Histology Department. You will be an essential team member of the Immunohistochemistry Department, and your responsibilities will include performing a wide range of histology administrative tasks, as follows:

• Handling and processing slides according to laboratory procedures
• Conducting checks of slides to ensure quality and accuracy
• Preparing solutions for machines
• Preparing control material
• Maintaining accurate records of above actions

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Ability to work full-time hours, Monday to Friday, from 9am – 5pm
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good computer and time management skills
• Reliability and the willingness to work with an energetic and close-knit team

Previous laboratory experience and knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WH&S) would be an advantage. However, full training will be provided to the suitable applicant.
