Description:

Job Purpose: dnata Travel Group, represents the travel division of dnata, one of the world’s largest air and travel services providers. As Environment Affairs Manager, you will support the development, implementation and maintenance of dnata Travel Group’s environmental sustainability framework, including management systems, processes and documentation. You will work with business units to identify opportunities, implement best practice, and establish monitoring and reporting and provide specialist environmental sustainability advice to business units.
You will also contribute to wider departmental activities, including preparation of internal and external communications, stakeholder engagement, advocacy activities, preparation of annual environmental reporting, and managing regulatory compliance processes. This is a full-time role and is based in our Dubai office.

  • Previous aviation or travel & transportation industry experience.
  • Experience working with key stakeholders like facilities and IT to ensure the sustainability targets are planned and met according to a defined strategy.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and Business Partner providing support and challenge to their business area to help manage the value of their organisation.
  • Develop and implement environmental management system processes and documentation.
  • Lead cooperation with business units to identify environmental risks and opportunities, develop action plans, and implement monitoring and reporting processes.
  • Manage and refine environmental reporting for the Emirates Group Annual Report.
  • Provide specialist advice and analysis on matters related to international and local environmental regulations, compliance, and best practice. Monitor and analyse environmental policy developments and advise management on the impacts on company interests.
  • Develop internal communications and training materials in conjunction with communications and learning & talent specialists.
  • Identify, build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to support the achievement of business outcomes, including with government and industry bodies both within the UAE and internationally.
  • Manage compliance processes for specific regulatory obligations.
  • Develop policy positions on environmental sustainability issues and prepare fact-based arguments and commentary for advocacy documents.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST MEET THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in or related to environmental management, sustainability, environmental science, or engineering.
  • Minimum 8+ Years of experience working in environmental affairs, environmental management, or sustainability.
  • Technical and political understanding of local and global environmental issues.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of environmental management systems, e.g. ISO 14001.
  • Experience in undertaking greenhouse gas inventories and environmental reporting.
  • Experience in project management and risk management.
