We are recruiting right now for an Environmental and Field Laboratory Technician position based out of our Christchurch Lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing environmental testing and field sampling as well as conducting occupational hygiene monitoring for our clients around the country. This position will require the ability to travel to different parts of New Zealand working around the needs of our clients.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience and knowledge in Environmental testing including bore water monitoring, stack emission testing, occupational hygiene monitoring.
  • Membership of the New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society (NZOHS) and/or completion of the OHTA courses would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with contaminated land sampling is advantageous.
  • Full clean NZ class 1 driver’s licence.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to self-motivate.
  • A proactive approach to Health and Safety – its our #1 priority!
  • Methodical thinking skills and the capability to work independently and remotely.
  • Flexibility to work night shift and on the weekend, some travel will also be required from time to time (standard hours 7:00am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday).
  • Knowledge of New Zealand environmental regulations and requirements would be beneficial.
  • The ability to carry out physically demanding tasks and work at heights.
