Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Civil Engineering Technology Certificate or Environmental Technology Certificate or a relevant Technical Certification / Diploma or Science Degree combined with a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated relevant experience is required
  • Demonstrated understanding of legislation, standards and best practices pertaining to Landfill compliance
  • Possess and maintain a valid and restriction free Class G driver’s license
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of electronics and controls and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of sampling/quality control for water chemistry, fisheries and benthic data collection
  • SWANA Manager of Landfill Operations Certification will be considered an asset.
  • Certification or training in Project Management will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Contract Administration will be considered an asset.
  • Willingness to obtain safety certificates in Confined Space Entry, Chainsaw, Propane and Electrofishing
    Duration: Permanent Full-Time
    Hours of work: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday (40 hours/week); may be required to work outside of the normal hours of work.
    Environment: Non-Union
    The annual salary range for this non-union position is $63,938 - $79,900. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including an Employee Assistance Program, Health and Dental Benefits and Life, Long-Term Disability, and AD&D Insurance. The City of North Bay is an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.
