Description:

EDUCATION:

A bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 4 - 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with responsibilities focused on environmental compliance and safety management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with environmental management software.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively train and educate others.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the site’s compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage the site’s air emissions monitoring and reporting programs, ensuring the timely and accurate submission of all required data.
  • Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring adherence to both regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Manage wastewater treatment processes across the site and coordinate the preparation and submission of wastewater discharge reports.
  • Supervise landfill operations with a focus on waste minimization and diversion strategies, ensuring efficient and compliant practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive site-wide waste generation reports, analyzing trends to identify opportunities for waste reduction.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of environmental control policies established by the organization, ensuring alignment with broader corporate objectives.
  • Prepare and submit the annual air emissions and landfill reports for the site, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
  • Design, implement, and monitor programs aimed at preventing, controlling, or eliminating unsafe environmental conditions, ensuring their effectiveness post-implementation.
  • Act as an instructor in training sessions on environmental practices, regulations, and company policies, ensuring that staff are well-informed and compliant.
  • Provide environmental orientation to new hires, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and the company’s environmental goals.
  • Maintain and report on Sustainability Metrics (such as fresh water usage, net waste, and energy consumption) for the site, aligning with corporate sustainability targets.
