Description:

We are a leading company specialising in precast concrete elements and looking for an Environmental Engineer for a major project at our factory in London Thamesport, Isle of Grain (ME3 0EP Kent), United Kingdom.
Join a leading firm in the design, manufacture and assembly of precast, prestressed reinforced concrete structures for both civil engineering and building construction.

Integrated in our HSE team, you will have a focus on the environmental area and your DUTIES will be, among others, the following:

  • carries out environment-related desk-based research and fieldwork to collect, analyse and interpret data to determine their validity, quality and significance.
  • implements, reviews and advises on regulatory and legislative standards, guidelines and policies, having regard for sustainable approaches and solutions.
  • advises on and provides solutions for mitigating the effects of contamination.
  • implements remediation works.
  • carries out and assists in environmental audits and environmental impact assessments.
  • assists the teams involved to conduct their activities in an environmentally appropriate manner.
  • manage the Environmental Management Plan and Waste Management Plant and the corresponding documents.

Our successful candidate would be someone who meets the following requirements:

  • University degree in a related field: Bachelor in Environmental Engineering, or bachelor in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering together with a Msc in Environmental management, QHES Management or similar.
  • At least 2-5 years of previous experience in a similar role managing the Environmnetal System, preferably in the precast concrete sector or industrial environment.
  • Available to work in shifts.

Highly valued:

  • Training and/or experience in environmental management ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
  • Experience in complex civil engineering and/or building construction projects. Experience in projects involving international teams and stakeholders.
  • Languages: fluent English, B2 or higher.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, communication skills, analysis skills.
  • Availability for occasional travelling as required.
