The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team is looking for an Environmental Engineer/Scientist (Experienced or Senior) to support Boeing Jacksonville and other BGS regional locations!
This position is located in northwest Jacksonville, Florida at Cecil Airport. This position requires a candidate with knowledge and experience across multiple environmental media (Air Quality, Hazardous Waste, SARA Reporting, Storm Water, etc). The candidate will be based at Cecil Airport and travel to other Boeing Global Services locations to support, mentor, and perform internal auditing. Boeing Jacksonville is an exciting location that is currently expanding operations with new hangar, shop, flight line, and office space to improve our aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. Operations at Boeing Jacksonville support multiple defense programs in the growing business of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience with environmental compliance, environmental program management
  • 3+ years of experience in areas of air quality, stormwater, hazardous waste, industrial wastewater, spill prevention, storage tanks, environmental sampling, data analysis, and environmental reporting
  • 3+ years of experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in environmental science, chemistry, biology, geology, environmental management or engineering
  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with environmental compliance and regulations
  • Environmental Permitting Experience

EXPERIENCED (LEVEL 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development, implementation, sustainment and administration of environmental management systems, processes and compliance programs
  • Leads and develops compliance reviews of internal processes and practices
  • Acts as focal for environmental emergency response activities
  • Evaluates facility conditions and recommends alternatives
  • Leads site interface with regulatory agencies
