Purpose:
Veren has an opportunity for a highly motivated Environmental Engineer to join our Environment and Regulatory team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the group, responsible for bringing Business Intelligence reporting tools to the company via ESG and sustainability reporting as well as other provincial and internal reporting mechanisms.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Data collection and analysis to present cost savings and project summaries
  • Collect and review data as part of the IRP/ILRP annual submission
  • Support data compilation and quality assurance activities associated with corporate ESG and sustainability reporting
  • Collaborate with other Leaders in support of the department’s goals
  • Coordinate audit requests for the team
  • Ensure internal controls are working effectively
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements
  • Assist with ad-hoc asset retirement and A&D related requests from Business Units

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or relevant studies
  • 5-10 years of digital or engineering experience
  • Strong data analytical skills through software languages like MS Excel, Python, Spotfire/Power BI, etc
  • Performing tasks with a high degree of attention to detail with a strong desire to learn and improve
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and contributing to a positive work environment
  • Adapting to new challenges and continuously seeking ways to enhance knowledge, take initiative, and contribute to team goals
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet critical deadlines and timelines
